About

Quoting software for shops of one.

Every small shop fights the same question: what should I charge for this? When you're the designer, the machine operator and the one sending the invoice, you don't have an hour to build every quote.

So I built ShopRate. You paste in what the customer sent, it reads the sizes and quantities, and it prices the job with your own rates and materials. You look it over, fix anything that's off, and send your customer a clean quote they can accept by email.

How a job goes through ShopRate

01

Set your rates once

Your hourly rates, what your machines cost to run, your materials, your extras and your markup. ShopRate uses your numbers, not some industry average.

02

Paste in the request

A customer sends a sketch, a screenshot of something they saw online, or a few lines in a DM. Paste the message and any pictures into ShopRate.

03

It drafts the quote

ShopRate pulls out the sizes, quantities, materials and wording, then drafts the quote with your rates. If a size isn't written down, it asks instead of guessing.

04

You check it and send

Change any line, add your terms, and send it. Your customer gets a clean emailed quote with an Accept button. Nothing goes out until you send it.

05

Keep track of who's paid

Mark each quote sent, accepted and paid, so you know who still owes you without digging through old texts.

What's in it

Made for one-person shops

Laser, CNC, 3D printing, woodworking, metal. If you make things and quote them yourself, it's for you.

Sketch to quote in minutes

Paste in the request and it drafts the quote. You check it before it goes anywhere.

Your prices, not guesses

Every number comes from your own rates and materials. When something's missing, it asks.

Know what you're making

Every quote shows what the job pays you per hour, next to the rate you're aiming for.

Who's behind it

I'm Sam Coleman. I run Coleman Designs, a one-person laser, CNC and 3D printing shop in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. I built ShopRate because I was tired of guessing on my own quotes. I still use it for every job.
